Ottawa's oldest radio station, CIWW 1310 AM broadcast for over a century before Rogers shuttered it on October 26, 2023. Founded in 1922, the station spent its final three years branded as CityNews Ottawa, delivering all-news and talk programming to the National Capital Region. Citing low audiences, declining revenue, and a restrictive AM regulatory environment, Rogers returned the broadcast licence to the CRTC on November 28, 2023 — ending 101 years of Ottawa radio history.
