BBC Radio Leicester is the BBC's local radio station for Leicestershire and Rutland, and holds a unique place in broadcasting history as the very first BBC Local Radio station, having launched on 8 November 1967. Delivering local news, sport, talk and music on 104.9 FM, DAB and BBC Sounds, it reaches around 100,000 weekly listeners from its studios at St Nicholas Place in the heart of Leicester.
